An Important Update on TGCW20

Dear Friends,

We’ve been working and planning TGCW20 for almost two years now—hoping, praying, and looking forward to being together. However, because of the COVID-19 pandemic and the ongoing restrictions on large gatherings, we must postpone (not cancel!) the 2020 Women’s Conference. We’ve labored over this decision as a staff, with the City of Indianapolis, and with TGC’s Board and Council. As disappointing as postponement is for all of us, we think it is the best way to honor the Lord, submit to the wisdom of governing authorities, and love our neighbors during this global health crisis.

One of the essential values of this event is the opportunity to be together—to learn, to worship, to share meals, and to stay up late laughing and making memories together. While we considered other options, we decided that postponing made the most sense. Therefore, we’re rescheduling for April 9–11, 2021 in Indianapolis.

What about my conference registration?

We truly hope each of you will still be able to join us for the Steadfast Conference! We know these dates fall on slightly different days of the week than the original plan, but large conference space is usually confirmed years in advance, so our options were limited. Here are four options for your registration:

  • Attend Postponed Women’s Conference, April 9 to 11, 2021
  • Attend TGC21 (TGC’s National Conference), April 12 to 14, 2021
  • Attend TGCW22 (TGC’s Women’s Conference), June 16 to 18, 2022
  • Donate your registration to the work of TGC

Please fill out this form to let us know which of these options you’d prefer by Friday, May 29.

If scheduling prevents you from attending any of these events, we hope you will consider donating your registration to the work of TGC as a 2020 tax-deductible gift. Our conferences help fund our editorial work, the various resources we freely provide on our website, book projects, and our ability to help share the message of the gospel throughout the entire world through other international TGC websites. Ministries are particularly affected by unforeseen changes in the economy, and your donation can do so much to help continue TGC’s ministry to serve Christians and strengthen the church around the world. If you have further questions or concerns about your registration, please email us at [email protected] by Friday, May 29.

What about my hotel reservation?

If you reserved your hotel room through Visit Indy on the TGCW20 Travel Page, there’s nothing to do. Visit Indy will handle cancelling all hotel reservations that were booked in The Gospel Coalition room block. Each reservation will receive a cancellation acknowledgement email. Please contact [email protected] with any questions.

If you reserved your hotel room directly with a hotel, outside of the official room block, you will need to cancel your reservation with that hotel directly.

What about my flight?

Please contact your airline and cancel your current travel arrangements. Many airlines are waiving their change fees and offering vouchers toward future flights.

What can I do as I wait?

We also wanted to let you know that even though we’re unable to gather in June, we’re planning to bring some of our speakers to you! Courtney Doctor and I are in the process of recording Zoom calls with various speakers that we’ll share every Tuesday and Thursday for the next few weeks, starting tomorrow on Wednesday, April 29, with an introductory video to share with you a little more about what we’ll be doing. We’re calling it a zoomcast (yes, we made that up): A Moment of Steadfast Hope. Each episode is about 15 minutes, and we hope they offer encouragement and a little bit of fun in these difficult days.

We trust that gathering together next spring will be all the more joyous because of the social distancing we’ve experienced this spring. Until then, we believe the Lord is working to grow us in steadfastness as we wait. We’re looking forward to next April and hope that each of you will be able to join us!

Steadfast in hope,

Melissa Kruger
Director of Women’s Initiatives
